O chumbo das autoridades canadianas ao projecto da segunda mina devido ao impacto ambiental retirou por agora o potencial de subida a este papel.
O CEO já veio dizer que irá recorrer, mas isto irá demorar muito tempo.

Como não estou a gostar do gráfico e os resultados apresentados ontem não foram grande coisa, saltei fora. Fiz um lucro razoável em metade da posição e um lucro marginal no restante.

No espaço de um minuto a cotação foi dos 6.94 até aos 4.58 (parecia o SP500 em Maio, isto deve de se ter tornado moda), foi um festim de STOPS a dispararem.

Uma bomba nuclear rebentou na mina?
Não, foi apenas comunicado que as autoridades canadianas ainda não tomaram a decisão sobre a abertura de uma segunda mina, que era dada quase como adquirida.

Nos minutos seguintes recuperou para perto do ponto de BREAK: 6.2.

Com os preços do ouro e do cobre em alta a TGB parece um foguete.

Is Taseko the Perfect Stock?

Everyone would love to find the perfect stock. But will you ever really find a stock that gives you everything you could possibly want?

One thing's for sure: If you don't look, you'll never find truly great investments. So let's first take a look at what you'd want to see from a perfect stock, and then decide if Taseko Mines (AMEX: TGB) fits the bill.

The quest for perfection
When you're looking for great stocks, you have to do your due diligence. It's not enough to rely on a single measure, because a stock that looks great based on one factor may turn out to be horrible in other ways. The best stocks excel in many different areas, which all come together to make up a very attractive picture.

Some of the most basic yet important things to look for in a stock are:

* Growth. Expanding businesses show healthy revenue growth. While past growth is no guarantee that revenue will keep rising, it's certainly a better sign than a stagnant top line.
* Margins. Higher sales don't mean anything if a company can't turn them into profits. Strong margins ensure a company is able to turn revenue into profit.
* Balance sheet. Debt-laden companies have banks and bondholders competing with shareholders for management's attention. Companies with strong balance sheets don't have to worry about the distraction of debt.
* Money-making opportunities. Companies need to be able to turn their resources into profitable business opportunities. Return on equity helps measure how well a company is finding those opportunities.
* Valuation. You can't afford to pay too much for even the best companies. Earnings multiples are simple, but using normalized figures gives you a sense of how valuation fits into a longer-term context.
* Dividends. Investors are demanding tangible proof of profits, and there's nothing more tangible than getting a check every three months. Companies with solid dividends and strong commitments to increasing payouts treat shareholders well.

With those factors in mind, let's take a closer look at Taseko.

A score of 8 is extremely good, even if it falls short of perfect. Like many metals-related stocks, Taseko is still in a strong growth phase, with its promising Prosperity mine in western Canada getting closer to approval. Between that and its already-producing flagship Gibraltar copper mine, Taseko needs every penny it can get to reinvest into its own business. And despite concerns that increasing supplies will hurt prices for both Taseko and Teck Resources (NYSE: TCK), Taseko has the advantage of having a chunk of its production hedged in 2010.

Dividend investors shouldn't expect payouts anytime soon, which is the stock's only black marks. But most investors in mining stocks are quite comfortable with that. Even though copper competitors Southern Copper (NYSE: SCCO) and Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold (NYSE: FCX) both pay modest dividends, Taseko's much smaller size gives it a whole lot more upside potential.

Keep searching
No stock is a sure thing, but some stocks are a lot closer to perfect than others. By looking for the perfect stock, you'll go a long way toward improving your investing prowess and learning how to separate out the best investments from the rest.

Depois de ter subido cerca de 10% na sexta feira e depois da Alcoa (sua prima afastada) ter apresentado resultados que ficaram abaixo das previsões, a TGB até que nem se portou muito mal e hoje regresou ás subidas tendo feito novo maximo relativo.

A TGB irá apresentar resultados apenas em 13 de Maio.

TASEKO ANNOUNCES 2009 YEAR END RESULTS
March 18, 2010, Vancouver, BC – Taseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO; NYSE Amex: TGB) ("Taseko" or
the "Company") reports the results for the three and twelve months ended December 31, 2009. Except
where otherwise noted, all currency amounts are stated in Canadian dollars.
For the year ended December 31, 2009, Taseko had operating profit of $48.3 million and earnings before
tax and other items of $27.0 million, compared to an operating profit of $28.1 million for the 15 months
year ended December 31, 2008. For the quarter ended December 31, 2009, the operating profit was $15.7
million and earnings before tax and other items was $3 million. Other items include an unrealized (non
cash) loss attributable to derivative instruments.
Annual revenue was $188.9 million from the sale of 68.1 million pounds of copper and 0.7 million pounds
of molybdenum at average realized prices of US$2.31 per pound and US$11.02 per pound, respectively.
Russell Hallbauer, President and CEO of Taseko commented, “The significant increase in metal prices in
2009, combined with steadily improving operational performance at our Gibraltar Mine, contributed to the
strong earnings and cash flow for the year. Financially, we are in excellent shape with sufficient cash on
hand to fund all capital expenditures at Gibraltar in 2010. Our Gibraltar team is making steady progress on
construction projects and the new in-pit crusher/conveyor system, which is expected to begin its
commissioning phase later this month.”
