2:58PM Rambus announces that the U.S. District Court orders Hynix to post security for infringing Rambus patents (RMBS) 12.56 +0.58 : Co announces that the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California has ordered Hynix Semiconductor to secure the judgment amount of ~$397 mln through a combination of a bond and a lien on a Hynix property in South Korea for infringing Rambus patents. The bonded amount of $250 mln is required to be posted within 45 days of the order. The lien will only serve as security if a new appraisal of the Hynix property shows a fair market value of at least double the amount of the judgment not secured by the bond. If the appraisal is inadequate, Rambus may ask the Court to substitute other security. Final judgment in this matter was entered against Hynix on March 10, 2009 in the amount of ~$134 mln for infringement through December 31, 2005 and ~$215 mln for its infringement from January 1, 2006 through January 31, 2009. In addition, the Court awarded ~$48 mln in pre-judgment interest to Rambus.

Os resultados forma acima das estimativas, mas a questão frulcral continua a ser processos em tribunal que só serão conhecidos nos próximos meses, daí que esta lateralização possa permanecer mais uns tempos. Entrarei nela apenas na quebra dos 10.79, até lá prefiro deixa-la lateralizar.

RMBS caught my eye last month when price broke out of an Inverted Head & Shoulders pattern near 9.91/share and have been watching patiently ever since. I really like this setup and think we could see a continuation to the upside especially if price breaks the 10.79 resistance. Currently price is is trading in a tight range. On Thursday's session there was another spike in volume towards the close along with a strong intraday rally placing momentum in favor of the bulls indicating this pattern could be broken to the upside in the near future. By a technical perspective, stock still trading in a Bullish momentum, with share price above its 20 and 50 dma. Another technical indicator that jumps out at me on RMBS is the short interest percentage. The short interest has decreased about 20% in the last month without a substantial rally. This bodes well for Rambus’s direction in the case of a good rally. I want to buy RMBS if price begins to breach the 10.79 trigger long price, because this breakout could trigger a strong swing near 13 - 15/ share.

O potencial deste titulo é enorme e qualquer oferta de compra não seria abaixo dos $30. No entanto as guerras das patentes tem levado algum dinheirito dos cofres da empresa, o que na perda das acções judicias pode ser mal para o titulo, mas tudo está bem indiciado para a Rambus ganhar mais uma acção em tribunal. Daí que neste patamar, eu julgo que a acção tá uma pechincha. Já para não falar nas novidades tecnológicas recentemente lançadas, e a possibilidade da Intel vir a incorporar tecnologia Rambus nos seus componentes. Vamos esperar, tecnicamente tá Bullish......e aquele volume de contratos é mais que suspeito, vale lembrar movimentos anteriores na Sun Micro Systems.

Acho que vais ganhar muito dinheiro com ela, possivelmente até mais de 100%, pois a constante movimentação dos cofres para assustar os compradores é algo anormal e só serve para assustar os patos a vender. Para isso muitos estão a encher-se de call options.

Desculpem o Inglês : Aqui fica a minha opinião, tou longo novamente.............The stock is still facing resistance around 10.65. The technical daily chart above is showing bullish bias. MACD is indicating that the current short term price trend is very bullish. In addition, the On Balance Volume is increasing, indicating accumulation of shares in the market. I'm still maintaining the buy rating on Rambus as the technical chart still shows very bullish sign as 20 day moving average is on top over 50 day moving average with MACD above 0. One thing I would like to point out was the unusual options activity in Rambus over the day. If you go out to the April 2009 options expiration contracts, you will see that nearly 9050 contracts have been traded in the APR09 $12 CALLS. One rumor pointed to Hynix, and one to a possible buyout. Stay tuned on Rambus....

O que o grafico me mostra é uma "rising Wedge" desde Fevereiro que muito provavelmente atirará a cotação cá para baixo.

Exacto, poderá ser um teste á neckline ou mesmo um formar do topo. Fechei a minha posição longa a 10.23 aguardo por uma melhor confirmação para nova entrada.
