"The fear is still real. People are still really scared about where they have their money on Wall Street. They are scared because here is what happens: The big clients read the papers. They see big losses. They want to know if you are keeping your cash balance with one of the firms out there that has had big losses. I don't want to even name them.

Is it right to worry about counterparty risk? Here's what I think it is right to worry about: the idea that a client says, "You moron, what were you thinking?"

Arguably this should cut in favor of Goldman Sachs (GS - commentary - Cramer's Take - Rating) which, despite endless cuts, is not going to lose money THAT WE KNOW OF.

I believe their prime brokerage business is taking huge share here. The issue, though, is simple: So what? Every other business is doing terribly.

So, alas.

So what? Numbers can't go higher. That's all that matters.
