Eurotunnel in talks for debt restructuring

LONDON, May 15 (newratings.com) – Eurotunnel (EUT.FSE), which operates the channel tunnel, Monday confirmed that it is in talks with its creditors and banking groups, Goldman Sachs and Macquarie, to work out a debt restructuring deal for its €9 billion debt.

Meanwhile, the Euronext stock exchange announced on Monday that trading in shares of Eurotunnel had been suspended pending an important announcement from the company, which operates a rail tunnel link between northern France and Southern England. According to Reuters, Eurotunnel and its creditors have been considering the issuance of hybrid bonds, which can be converted into either equity or debt at a later date.

Le titre Eurotunnel a été suspendu par Euronext à la suite d’une décision de l’AMF, le lundi 15 mai.

Eurotunnel confirme qu’il est à la recherche d’un accord de restructuration définitif avec le Comité Ad Hoc des créanciers et les groupes Goldman Sachs et Macquarie.

Dès que possible, Eurotunnel tiendra le marché informé de l’évolution de ces discussions et, le cas échéant, de la conclusion d’un accord.

Toute rumeur, interprétation ou commentaire doivent être considérés avec la plus grande prudence.
