Eu ainda tenho as minhas meninas dos 3,2.16,1.72,1.65,1.52 agora I'm very Happy.

DJ JDS Uniphase Finds Material Weaknesses In Controls >JDSU
WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--JDS Uniphase Corp. (JDSU) disclosed Friday that it found several material weaknesses in its internal controls over financial reporting, and that these controls were therefore "not effective."
The maker of laser equipment said in its annual report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it identified control deficiencies that included a weakness in the documentation of goodwill impairment, insufficient qualified accounting resources, a weakness in communication between parts of the company and its finance department, as well as a material weakness in the control of complex and non-routine transactions.
The San Jose, Calif., company said the material weaknesses resulted in adjustments to several "significant accounts" that included revenue, investments, cash flows, stock-based compensation, foreign currency translation, restructuring accruals and investment, as well as stock-based compensation.
JDS Uniphase said that the material weaknesses, which arose from a series of complex transactions in the past fiscal year, "impact the company's ability to report financial information and could affect all of our significant financial statement accounts."
The company said it has started to take steps to remediate the material weaknesses, including searching for qualified accounting personnel.
Parece que pelo menos na Alemanha a notícia não deu um imediato sinal de desvalorização e, pelo contrário, até está a subir razoavelmente.

"It Doesn't Pay to Be a JDSU Skeptic"

It's time to admit that Kevin Kennedy has grabbed the bull by the horns and done things right. I had been after the guy for not making the hard choices at JDSU (JDSU:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take) soon enough to matter. He didn't close the redundant plants and reduce manufacturing costs initially and he was unable to streamline one of the most bloated companies in the universe.
That's all changed now. He's bitten the bullet and moved a lot of manufacturing to China. He's closed a lot of divisions, shed others and begun to add businesses. Plus, the delay in financials is a reflection of all the moves he has made, not of some sort of sloppiness. Put simply, he is doing all the things I have wanted him to do from the get-go, so to stay negative is pretty silly.
Not only that, but there seems to be a worldwide pickup in carrier spending, and when it comes to optical spend, you know JDSU's going to get its fair share. The Acterna acquisition, which bolsters broadband and datacom offerings from JDSU, could only enhance business. Right now, that acquisition's looking mighty smart, particularly given that JDSU was getting no credit for its big cash hoard. As Citigroup recently noted in its important upgrade of JDSU, the gross margins should turn up here because of the Acterna coup, and that will only serve to get more people on board. Oh, and let's not forget, if Google (GOOG:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take) builds out its network infrastructure, JDSU could see some orders, too, as Jordan Rohan pointed out in last week's positive piece about Google's next moves.
So, it's not just the optics of a reverse split that make JDSU more pleasant. It's the optics business itself, which is improving and actually could turn out to be red-hot going into the end of the year.
I pounded on Kennedy but good when he took no action. Now that he is taking so much action that it is actually affecting the company's ability to get timely financials out -- although, again, I believe that will be benign -- for me to stay negative would just be wrong.
It just doesn't pay to be skeptical about this company anymore. I agree with Citigroup's $2.50 price target and believe it will come sooner rather than later. "

"JDSU's Reverse Split Makes Sense"

"Historically, I have hated reverse splits. I have hated them because they tend to mask real problems. They often are put on to confuse and obscure the past. Most of the time, the stocks get clubbed right back to oblivion after reverse splits happen. They are cosmetic at best.
But I don't feel that way about JDSU (JDSU:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take). And I wouldn't feel that way about Lucent (LU:NYSE - commentary - research - Cramer's Take), either. Or Conexant (CNXT:Nasdaq - commentary - research - Cramer's Take). These are companies that have gigantic share bases, share counts so big that no matter what the companies do, they are always going to earn a penny a share!
Let's walk through the math. JDSU just reported 1.4 pennies per share which, of course, becomes 1 cent per share. That's pretty shabby, right? But going forward, if shareholders agree to a reverse stock split, that would become, with a 10-for-1 reverse split, 14 cents per share. Going further, 14 cents next year vs. 10 cents this year would equate to 40% growth. In other words, the rounding "error" could be huge for the company.
The market's so stupid that people won't even get that this happened. They will just say, "Holy cow, this company's rocking!"
Which is why I don't think there's anything wrong with this JDSU rally.
In fact, I just wish others would pay attention to it, including Lucent, which has fought me on this for a year now! "

JDSU Successfully Completes Qualification Tests on Industry-Leading 980 nm Pump Module for Submarine Cable Systems
Monday September 26, 5:23 pm ET
5000 Series Undersea Pump Module Offers Twice the Power of Previous Generation Pumps
SAN JOSE, Calif., and GLASGOW, Scotland, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JDSU (Nasdaq: JDSU - News; TSX: JDU - News) today announced the qualification of its 5000 Series Undersea Pump Module, offering optical power up to 400 mW and performance that exceeds Telcordia standards to meet the requirements for undersea deployment. A unique combination of the latest generation of proven chip technology and a proven packaging technology, the 5000 Series Undersea Pump was developed in response to the accelerating adoption of broadband services and the correlating high bit-rate environments at the long-haul and ultra long-haul levels. The product will be on display at ECOC 2005 in Glasgow, September 26-29, booth 85.
Core networks, including undersea cables, are supporting strong traffic increases resulting from widespread deployment of broadband access technologies. Network operators are challenged by the need to reduce operating expenses while also adding new revenue-generating services and increased performance. Subjected to multiple aging life tests during the qualification process, as well as stringent in-process screening (also known as "pedigree review") to certify for undersea deployment, the 5000 Series is able to help manufacturers of undersea cabling equipment meet these emerging demands.
"Demand for consumer and business broadband services is prompting operators to expand the capacity and performance of their networks through increased investment in new systems," said Julian Rawle, Senior Market Analyst for Pioneer Consulting (www.pioneerconsulting.com), a market research firm specializing in submarine fiber optics. "A high power, highly reliable 980 nm pump is therefore a critical component for suppliers of undersea communications systems. JDSU has a product with a proven track record that can help system suppliers successfully respond to the demands for reliability associated with an undersea environment."
"Our Congratulations to JDSU for their innovative approach," said Seymour Shapiro, VP R&D of Tyco Telecommunications. "JDSU has taken proven, deployed packaging technology and successfully integrated it with its laser diode chip, creating a high power undersea pump capability that offers a cost-effective solution for network operators."
The JDSU 5000 Series Undersea Pump Module is manufactured by highly skilled, trained and certified personnel in a U.S.-based pump module manufacturing facility that has produced the majority of the world's 980 nm pump modules. The facility has been extensively audited and the 5000 Series also undergoes continuing surveillance to ensure manufacturing stability.
About JDSU's 5000 Series Undersea Pump Module
The JDSU Series 5000 Undersea Pump Module is a combination of previously proven undersea technologies, the JDSU 6500 series 980 nm laser diode and the JDSU undersea pump module package. Both technologies have more than one billion device hours of undersea field operation without a reported failure.
JDSU has the world's largest database of undersea 980 nm lifetest data (6500 series 980 nm laser diode) and the undersea pump module package has been deployed successfully in undersea systems since 1998.
In addition, as the integrated manufacturer of the laser diode chip and module package, JDSU ensures optimal specification matching, integrated supply chain planning for efficiently-timed management, and an industry-leading cost structure.

Target final do ano = 2.85
Parabéns aos longos........
