RESEARCH ALERT-Lisbon Brokers restart Sonae as "strong buy"

LISBON, March 7 (Reuters) - Lisbon Brokers restarted coverage of Portuguese conglomerate Sonae SGPS on Monday with a "strong buy" rating and a fair value of 1.50 euros a share.
In a research note, Lisbon Brokers said the rating was based in part on valuation of the sum of Sonae's parts and debt reduction.
"Overall we expect Sonae SGPS to present a solid set of results and to provide an optimistic overview for 2005," it said. Sonae will present its 2004 results on Thursday before markets open.
