EUR/USD - aquela semana...
Bom dia,

(Espero q isto esteja certinho...)
China’s revaluation yoyo stabilizes for now
The latest swing in the in the Chinese verbal yo-yo came from the “leave-us-alone” camp when both Vice Premier Huang Ju and People`s Bank of China Deputy Governor Li Ruogu rebuffed calls from Europe and the to revalue the yuan. The officials said at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland: `` We are happy and willing to listen, but don`t ask us to practice what you say”. There were some market moving comments last week when Chinese central bank official Yu Yongding said it was time to make the yuan more flexible, thereby giving some luster to the Japanese currency. But the yen pulled lower later in the Friday session after Dow Jones news wires reported another central bank official saying Yu’s comments were not the government’s official view.
Yen drops as China says wait
The yen retreats across the board after People`s Bank of China Deputy Governor Li Ruogu had the last word in the latest exchange regarding the future of China’s currency. Li told European and US officials to practice what they preach as far as fiscal discipline is concerned, snubbing their requests to revalue the yuan. A yuan revaluation would mean Asian nations could allow their currencies to appreciate against the dollar while offsetting any negative impact on their competitiveness through a decline against the rising renminbi. Therefore, a delay in a renminbi revaluation will have the opposite effect and pressure the Asian currencies including the Japanese yen.
Speculators continue favoring Dollar except against Aussie
Speculators continued favoring the dollar against all the major currencies, except for the Aussie amid the hawkish Fed rhetoric and emerging signs of a possible rate hike from the Reserve Bank of Australia. EUR net longs fell for the third straight week, down 38% to 768 contracts, while GBP net longs fell 15% to a 14-week low of 15,990 contracts. CHF net shorts deteriorated 371% to 5,181 contracts, the highest net short level in 4 months. CAD net longs fell 52% to 2,653 contracts, the lowest net longs level since June. JPY net longs fell 88% to 924 contracts, the lowest net long since traders were net short in Oct 2004. The Aussie was the exception as net longs rose 14% to 30,903 contracts up for the 3rd straight week and reflecting the undergoing bullishness in the currency against the greenback and the yen.
