Caro Baco,

China + Uranium Supplies: An Analysis

Along with other base and precious metals, China picked uranium to stockpile as part of its five-year plan to make sure the country has adequate natural resources to supply its amazing growth. Indeed, the country is building two new nuclear reactors a year for the next twenty years so uranium oxide should definitely be on China's wish list.

The question for uranium investors, then, is to tease out what China's strategy for uranium might be. Yes, they did sign an accord with Australia, but in order to secure supplies within a relatively short window of five years, they had better hope that Australian legislation changes in a hurry to permit more uranium mines.

In fact, it is unlikely that Australian uranium could totally satisfy China's uranium thirst within the next five years, even with BHP Billiton's (NYSE:BHP) Olympic Dam expansion. China will likely adopt a multi-tiered strategy for uranium as they did with oil, with a mixture of buying companies outright and, for others, JVs.

Thus, for uranium oxide producers like Urasia (CVE:UUU), Denison Mines (TSE:DEN), UEX Corporation (TSE:UEX) and near-producers like Paladin Resources (TSE:PDN), sxr Uranium One (TSE:SXR), this announcement by China can only be interpreted as being positive for their respective companies and their investors.

TVA’s nuclear plants continually put more than 5,700 megawatts of electricity into the power grid, making TVAN — the TVA Nuclear organization — an integral part of the seven-state power system.

About 30 percent of TVA’s power supply comes from its three nuclear plants: Browns Ferry, near Athens, Ala.; Sequoyah, in Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., and Watts Bar, near Spring City, Tenn. Those plants alone make enough electricity to power more than three million homes in the Tennessee Valley.

As nuclear performance improves across the industry, TVAN’s challenge is to continue its mission of ensuring safe plant operations and achieve its vision of being the best multi-site nuclear power operator in the world.

MESA URANIUM CORP.

Mesa Uranium Corp. (TSX-V: MZU) is a Canadian exploration company focused on exploring for uranium on the 100% owned Lisbon Valley Project in the historic Lisbon Valley Mining District in Southeastern Utah. The Lisbon Valley Project covers 26 square miles of uranium claims prospective for the discovery of major uranium deposits.

Mesa Uranium's first priority is to explore adjacent to and on strike with the Districts largest mine, the Lisbon Mine which produced over 22 million pounds of uranium between 1972 and 1988. The grade and size of the deposit justified the development of two shafts and construction of a mill which profitably produced uranium when uranium prices averaged $21.00 per pound, the current price is $43.00 per pound. The initial phase of drilling will concentrate on targets along strike and within a few hundred feet of the underground stopes of the Lisbon Mine.

Over 85 million pounds of uranium were produced in the Lisbon Valley district from 1952 until the early 1990's from a trend 16 miles long by 1/2 mile wide along the flanks of the Lisbon Valley anticline. All of the major ore bodies did not outcrop and were discovered by exploration drilling, the most famous being the Mi Vida mine discovered by Charlie Steen in 1952. The Lisbon Valley Mining District accounted for over 80% of the uranium mined in the State of Utah and had some of the highest uranium grades in the United States, averaging 0.4 percent uranium. The Lisbon Valley Mining District is located in the Colorado Plateau region, 30 miles south of Moab, Utah.

Mesa Uranium Corp. (the "Company") is very pleased to report that drilling has commenced at its wholly owned Lisbon Valley uranium property located in Utah, USA. The drilling contractor is Bob Beeman Drilling whose personnel have years of experience drilling in the Lisbon Valley which dates back to the 1950's.

This initial phase of drilling comprises 10 holes which will concentrate on targets on the northern perimeter of the Company's claims adjacent to the largest mine in the Lisbon Valley Mining District, the Lisbon Mine, with past production of over 22 million pounds of uranium. Initial drilling results from this first phase of drilling are expected to be reported in the coming weeks. The south shaft of the Lisbon Mine is within 800 feet of the Company's property. The 2006 drilling plan consists of 35 holes for 25,000 meters of drilling.

Exploration Targets
The Lisbon Valley Mining District produced over 85 million pounds of uranium, 63 million pounds of which were produced from 15 mines that occur along a mineralized trend that is ½ mile wide and 16 miles long on the southwestern flank of a faulted anticline and is primarily hosted by the Moss Back member of the Triassic Chinle sandstone. During the 1960's, miners and geologists working in the District observed this trend and postulated a genetic relationship between the uranium deposits and the anticline and determined that more mines might occur on the northeastern side of the faulted anticline in a similar trend as the southwestern flank.

Using this geologic concept, exploration efforts focused on the northeastern side of the anticline in the hopes of discovering what could be the other half of the District. The exploration concept was validated in 1968 when a series of wildcat drill holes intercepted uranium ore on the northeast side of the anticline. Surface drilling delineated a massive tabular ore body roughly ½ mile wide by 1 mile long containing 3 million tons at a grade of 0.4% for a total of 22 million pounds of U3O8 produced. The size and high grade of the deposit justified the sinking of two 2,300 foot shafts and the construction of a 700 ton per day mill which produced yellowcake (uranium oxide) in a period when U3O8 prices averaged $21.00 per pound; the current price is $43.00 per pound. Rio Algom operated the mine between 1972 and 1988. The decline of uranium mining in the late 20th century brought a halt to further exploration.

The Lisbon Valley District accounted for over 80% of the uranium mined in the state of Utah and had some of the highest uranium grades in the United States averaging 0.4 percent uranium. The Company controls a large land position (27 square miles) in the District. The Lisbon Valley Mining District is located in the Colorado Plateau region, 30 miles south of Moab in San Juan County, Utah.

The project area is fully described in a current National Instrument 43-101 compliant report available for examination on www.mesauranium.com and on www.sedar.com.

Energia Alternativa -> Nuclear

M/Cumprimentos,
D.
