SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 25 (Reuters) - Conexant Systems Inc. (CNXT.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on Wednesday shrank its quarterly loss five-fold as the maker of communications and networking chips beat its own expectations and said it speeded its overall recovery, sending its shares up 9 percent.

Conexant said the net loss for its first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31 was $24.3 million, or 5 cents per share, compared with a loss of $120.7 million, or 26 cents a share a year earlier.

The company also said it was boosted by a $49 million gain on the sale of stock it held in SiRF Technology and a $22 million unrealized gain on the carrying value of warrants to buy stock of Mindspeed Technologies Inc.

Revenue jumped 64 percent to $230.7 million as Conexant said results beat the company's expectations on all major financial metrics.

For the second quarter the company said it expects revenue to increase 3 percent to 5 percent on a sequential basis. It said it expects core net income to be 2 cents per share.

Conexant shares rose 9 percent to $3.56 in after-hours trading on Inet from a Nasdaq close of $3.27.

Bom , aí vái uma actualização .Está um miminho e parece que tudo indica que se vá atirar como gato ao bofe dos 4,00 . No entanto , atenção que o RSI está a entrar em sobre-compra .Se ela um dia destes vier picar os 2,76 ou aquela LTA, não ficava nada surpreendido .

Conexant's fourth-generation device represents another landmark in

developments include creating the PCI video decoder category. The
company also introduced the industry's first single-chip MPEG
audio/video codec, delivered the world's most widely deployed MPEG
audio/video encoder, and launched the first single-chip video encoder
and digital video interface (DVI) transmitter.
The high level of audio and video integration in the CX23885
eliminates the need for additional broadcast audio decoding and
processing chips, or external sound demodulation chips. This allows
developers to reduce bill-of-material (BOM) costs without compromising
audio and video quality. The chip is optimized for regional broadcast
requirements, and is backward-compatible with the company's CX25843
A/V decoder. Additional planned devices will also be offered in
pin-compatible configurations, enabling manufacturers to develop

To enable faster time to market, Conexant offers multiple CX23885
PCI Express and ExpressCard(TM) reference designs. All of the

Availability, Packaging and Pricing
The CX23885 is sampling now with volume production scheduled for
the second quarter of 2006. The chip is packaged in a 14mm x 14mm
lead-free 128-pin exposed thin quad flat pack (ETQFP), and is priced
at $10 each in production quantities.

A CNXT , estou á espera que vá aquela LTA a verde escuro que intercepta aquele possivel suporte por volta dos 2,08 - 2,10 . Vou comprar aí ( colocando possivelmente um stop nos 2,02 ) e esperar então um novo ataque ao fecho do gap .

Na minha opinião são noticias de "marketing", não incluem muita informação financeira mais tecnológica, que não se tem reflectido na tendência de baixa que tem seguido.
