McLeodUSA Inc. after Wednesday's closing bell posted a wider fourth-quarter loss and said it is seeking a buyer for the company.
The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based integrated communications services provider said it lost $98.1 million, or 32 cents a share, for the quarter ended Dec. 31, vs. a loss of $56.6 million, or 20 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier.
Revenue fell to $162.6 million from $209.5 million.
McLeod (MCLD: news, chart, profile) said it is now actively pursuing a strategic partner or sale of the company, while also taking steps to maintain liquidity.
In the interim, McLeod said it has entered a forbearance agreement with its lenders, who have agreed not to take any action as a result of nonpayment of roughly $18.1 million of scheduled principal amortization and interest payments due on or before March 31 and any related defaults through May 23
