Beige Book says economy shows signs of slowing but .....

Fed sees signs of economic deceleration throughout U.S.
There were "widespread signs" of a deceleration in economic activity from mid-July through the end of August in all regions of the country, the Federal Reserve stated in its Beige Book today. However, the economy appeared to continue to expand, the Fed added. On the other hand, five of the Fed's 12 districts said that economic activity was either mixed or decelerated. Consumer spending appeared to have increased overall in most districts, while manufacturing also expanded although at a slower pace in some districts. Loan demand was slightly lower or stable, although credit quality improved slightly. Travel and tourism increased in most areas, but residential real estate declined further. Commercial real estate remained depressed. Meanwhile, inflation was "very limited."
