Short Interest has really swelled .. over 4.8million shares as of 9-30-09. Subscribers to the NASDAQ short interest data got the 10-15-09 data on Friday morning (the 16th) and the stock shot up on friday on good volume .. tells me that the 10/15 number was even higher. We retail investors will get the 10/15 numbers on the 23rd (friday).

The short interest is measured in ADS shares (32 million total), so the percentage of shares shorted is now over 15%. Couple that with the fact that the last 2 SEC 13G filings recorded another 3.6million shares in institutional ownership (pushing that total to over 70% of outstanding) and the stage is set for a big squeeze. The trigger for a short squeeze here could be earnings, which should be out in early december.
