European shares higher in early trading

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- European shares climbed on Wednesday, with stocks staging a bit of a rebound after hitting multi-year lows in the previous session. Leading the advance were mineral extractors such as Anglo American , up 2.2%. Earnings also gave some companies a boost, with France Telecom shares up 4.8%. The U.K. FTSE 100 index rose 1.4% to 3,561.34, the German DAX 30 index climbed 1.5% to 3,745.62 and the French CAC-40 index advanced 1.5% to 2,593.85.
