" Hang tough on this Turnaround Tuesday.

Have you seen the secret footage taken from the G-8 summit? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GSXbgfKFWg)

With the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) canceling its credit line to Pdvesa (National Petroleum Company of Venezuela), Australia’s decision to rule out deposit guarantees for foreign banks and Nicolas Sarkozy’s proposal that each country launch sovereign wealth funds to take stakes in key industries to stop them from falling in foreign hands, is anyone else picking up a trend here?

Such as, “When the going gets tough, the tough will protect their own interests”?

The seeds of isolationism continue to sow. That has a familiar ring to it, eh?

Y'all see the grabby greenback through a long-term lens?

With an understanding of what that means for asset classes?

Have I effectively communicated that the long energy bet was and is a counter-trend trade?

Whataya do when bulls get bearish and bears get bullish (other than take the other side for a trade)?

Will online porn be the single biggest beneficiary of the stimulus package (again)?

Does anybody else hear the word "chopsticks" and think of the movie Big?

The VXO, which jumped 385% from the beginning of August to the recent peak, has given back half that move as angst abates?

The average daily VXO close for four consecutive years (2004-2007) was 14.65 compared to the 17.65 point drop yesterday alone? (Thanks Mike O’Rourke of BTIG.)

When Big Ben finally admits to being in a recession, will we be in a depression or a recovery?

Why do I stress about my "name and word" (particularly the third clip) more than I do my P&L?

Are you watching Texas Instruments (TXN)—which is down 45% since June—as the reaction to news is more important than the news itself?

And American Express (AXP)—down 55% since May—for that matter as it battens down the hatches for a rough stretch ahead?

World, Hold On?

Raiders win, Sox lose, Broncos get pummeled. Is there justice in the world or has societal acrimony seeped out of my sports orifice?

Has anyone ever seen Dave Matthews and Jeremy Piven in the same room at the same time?

Y’all see three-month LIBOR at its lowest level since the Lehman collapse?

Yet still 2.33% above the Fed’s target rate for overnight loans?

Which is twice as high as it was one month ago?

Which begs the natural question: Is the world’s largest thermometer (stocks) attempting to anticipate a better backbone (credit)?

Speaking of which, will we have to wait until the next earnings cycle to see the Lehman Credit Default Swap Settlements?

Should I dust off my Marcus #32 Super Bowl MVP jersey for this weekend’s match-up against Baltimore with my brother?

Is anyone else getting fed up with the bashing of all things Wall Street?

The average gain during (all three) positive sessions this month is 6.85%?

While the average loss during the (11) negative sessions is 3.23%?

While the tape is off 15% month-to-date, should the bulls be grateful that we’re 18% above this month’s intraday low given the lopsided losing?

What’s an average investor to do in this market?

It’s Turnaround Tuesday—are you really that surprised to find the futures lower?
