Tobin defends himself and NEOM in MC update...
I just purchased 500,000 shares of NEOM at around 20 cents because I know that I’m neither an idiot nor a stock manipulator. Apparently, for some reason there is a group of NEOM shareholders who just have no freakin' idea about what NEOM is and why we own it.
Secondly, while there surely are a few literate, unemotional and respectable civilian analyst-types on any message board, my experience with most of the people who cast aspersions on me or ChangeWave Research anonymously is that they are individuals who are deeply in need of therapy, a life or both -- and calling me names just comes with the territory.
First off -- as we have shared with you ad nauseam -- the sale of the 20 million shares by NEOM's institutional investor group would temporarily drive down the price of ALL the shares, and you should use the temporary situation to BUY, not SELL, the stock.
But as we've seen, more than a few of the civilian shareholders could NOT stand the pain and sold en masse -- no doubt fanned by the bulletin boards -- driving the stock down further than the last three times we have gone through this scenario.
Well, guess what? The selling by the institutional firm is now over. They move about 250,000 to 300,000 shares a day in these selling orgies. Remember, they do not book profits for their shareholders until they sell something -- and now they're done.
They continue to own a little less than 5% of the outstanding shares at a net cost of about 5 cents -- as best I can figure -- and will hold until they think full valuation occurs.
With that forced selling over -- again, guess what? NEOM should jump 40% higher in three days, and will, I'm sure, retrace to the 40-cent range as selling pressure is replaced with buying pressure.
EVERYONE'S A CRITIC
All of this comes with the territory. We have built ChangeWave Research into one of the top-10 independent research companies in the world, and with more than 50,000 paid and 250,000 total subscribers to our research, we have become a ubiquitous brand name in the investment world -- not to mention my work on Fox News, which makes us an even bigger target.
I suggest you ask the message board mavens to uncover some other grand conspiracy theory to explain why NEOM (or any other microcap stock) can move 40% to 50% higher and lower in a matter of weeks.
As for me and my team, we will use the hysteria level of the message boards to help us gauge the psychological bottoms for our microcap stocks. And boy, do the message boards help there.
Just look at the Yahoo! Finance message boards when some of our microcaps such as Imperial Industries (IPII), OMNI Energy (OMNI), MobilePro (MOBL), NeoMedia (NEOM), Natural Gas Services (NGS) and DayStar (DSTI), were trading near their bottoms. If you are a ChangeWave Investing subscriber, the same phenomenon is apparent in ANY of our stocks that suffers a sharp correction.
I have made quite a nice fortune in buying stocks I know well from the crybabies who have no business playing the stock game. Not everyone is suited for this game -- especially in microcaps -- and as far as I'm concerned I'm helping these folks by buying stock from them as they panic and sell at the exact WRONG time.
Some people will never learn that the stock market is not "fair," nor was it ever intended to be. The market sets a price on a stock for the people who show up to trade that day -- nothing more and nothing less.
It is up to the buyer to know more than the seller if you are going to make money owning stocks long. That is the edge we give you with our 7,500 Alliance members out in the trenches of the world's economy.
We will not always be right, of course. Sometimes we miss things and sometimes we are dead wrong on our investment thesis and strategy.
But, when some no-life, message board zombie attacks me, ChangeWave Research or someone else on our team, please remember that I depend on these hysterical amateurs to give the rest of us a chance to buy stocks BELOW their true value from panicked sellers who place market orders into huge sell-offs because they can't stand the pain.
If it weren't for them, I would not have my bright shiny new NEOM shares at 20 cents. Similarly, without their panic-buying, most of us would not have been able to SELL a good amount of shares above 60 cents (and even up to 75 cents) last year -- the time when most of us SOLD as we advised subscribers to capture double and triple the money back on your original investment.
OK, I'm done now. But I hope you understand my message here loud and clear.
While I do believe there are some very knowledgeable message board posters in the world, I know for a fact you could fit all of them inside my home's dining room for a wonderful dinner party.
Most of what you and I read on message boards about the stocks that we advise on (or are researching) is NOT worth the wasted pixels on your screen.
