LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Producer prices in Germany rose 0.7% in February from January, or up 5.9% year-on-year, the fastest year-on-year growth rate since June 1982, the Federal Statistical Office said Monday.
The rise was much higher than the 0.1% monthly rise forecast by economists.

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- The German producer price index rose 1.2% in January from December, or 5.6% year-on-year, the highest annual rate of change since July 1982, according to statistics released Monday from the Federal Statistical Office. Consensus forecasts were for just a 0.4% month-on-month and 4.8% year-on-year rise.
