1-Sirius adds 359,000 customers in third quarter

NEW YORK, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. (SIRI.O: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Tuesday it added more than 359,000 net new subscribers to its satellite radio service in the third quarter.
Sirius also reiterated its forecast for 3 million subscribers by the end of 2005.
Sirius said it ended the quarter with 2.17 million subscribers, or less than half that of its rival XM Satellite Radio Holdings Inc. (XMSR.O: Quote, Profile, Research) in the nascent U.S. pay-radio market.
