WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Higher energy prices could have a negative impact in the long term on the nation's economy, Federal Reserve Gov. Susan Bies said. Speaking to reporters after a bankers conference, she said: "The longer the prices stay higher, the more likely there will be an impact on prices in general."
However, the Fed official said there's also now an underlying "core-resilience" in the U.S. economy.
