SG Cowen said Yahoo! (nasdaq: YHOO - news - people ) shares remain poised for upside despite the Internet giant's disappointing second-quarter sales growth. Organic growth increased 41% year-over-year compared with 44% in the first quarter and 42% in the fourth quarter of 2004, the research firm said.
"We believe Yahoo! will continue to gain share in the rapidly growing online advertising market given its leading position as a content aggregator combined with the growth of registered and fee paying users, which result in increased loyalty and more time spent on the site," said SG Cowen. "We believe the shares will outperform the market by at least 15% over the next 12 months."
