Uranium Missing From Japan Nuclear Plant
TOKYO (AP)--A minute amount of enriched uranium has gone missing from a nuclear power plant in central Japan, the Science Ministry said Friday.
Officials at Kansai Electric Power Co.'s (9503.TO) Takahama nuclear power plant in Fukui prefecture have been unable to locate a device containing 1.7 milligrams of enriched uranium, the ministry said in a statement. The amount is too small to make a bomb, said a ministry official on condition of anonymity.
