SEC suspends trading in 26 stocks
Companies failed to file required reports with agency

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - If you're an investor seeking to trade shares of Shaman Pharmaceuticals, DrKoop.Com, GEMZ, Inc. and 23 other companies between Wednesday and Dec. 14, you're going to have to rethink your choices.

Charging the companies with failing to file required periodic reports, the Securities and Exchange Commission Wednesday suspended the buying and selling of the companies' shares for two weeks.

The SEC made its announcement one minute after the market opened Wednesday morning. It affects a broad range of industries and companies including Homeland Security Technology Inc. (HSTJ: news, chart, profile) 1st Miracle Entertainment Inc. (MEMI: news, chart, profile) and Asset Equity Group Inc. (ASEQ: news, chart, profile).

Also subject to the trading suspension are Webvan Group (WBVNQ: news, chart, profile) Vertical Computer Systems Inc. (VCSY: news, chart, profile) International Brands Inc. (INBR: news, chart, profile) Abacan Resources Corp. (ABACQ: news, chart, profile) and Comparator Systems Corp. (IDID: news, chart, profile).
