WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) -- Wholesale inventories rose 0.5 percent in September, the slowest rise since April, the Commerce Department said Tuesday.
The rise was slightly less than the 0.7 percent increase forecast by economists polled by CBS MarketWatch.
Wholesale sales rose 0.6 percent in the month.
The inventory-to-sales ratio, and indication of demand, remained at 1.15 for the fourth consecutive month. That is slightly above April's record low of 1.12.
