TOMTOM

Shares in TomTom (TOM2.AS) rise near 4 percent to lead a flat Amsterdam market, on a UBS price target increase to 6.50 euros from 5.25, a JP Morgan rating upgrade to "overweight" from "neutral" and positive readacross from rivals' results.
"We believe the market continues to overemphasise stalling PND sales and does not fully value the upside from the strong growth of in-dash sales expected over the next 2-3 years," JP Morgan says in a note.
"We see upside to earnings and a return to double digit earnings growth, driven by the automotive segment, acting as a positive catalyst for the shares," it says.
SNS Securities analysts Martijn den Drijver says the Dutch navigation device maker has also been boosted by Nokia (NOK1V.HE) and Navteq quarterly results which shows that TomTom, which makes personal navigation devices (PND), is not threatened as much by free navigation maps on smartphones as first feared. "The PND market did much better than expected in Q3 (growing sequentially by 10 pct) underlining that smart phone and PND can (and will) co-exist, at least in the near to medium-term. That is an important part off our investment case," Den Drijver says in a note, keeping his "buy" advice.[/b]
