Moody’s corta "rating" de Portugal para "lixo"

A agência Moody’s acaba de cortar o "rating" da dívida portuguesa para "Ba2", uma notação que já corresponde a território de "investimento de alto risco", ou seja, "lixo" ("junk").

A agência Moody’s tornou-se a primeira agência de “rating” internacional a atribuir uma notação financeira abaixo da linha que separa “grau de investimento” de “investimento de alto risco” (“ou lixo”).

A notação de risco caiu em quatro níveis, de Baa1 para Ba2. E mantém-se o “outlook” negativo, o que significa que a notação pode voltar a cair.

A Moody’s justifica a decisão com três motivos. A agência acredita que há um risco crescente de que o País vai necessitar de uma segunda vaga de ajuda financeira, receia que Portugal não será capaz de cumprir os objectivos de redução do défice, e teme que o Estado não consiga financiar-se (nos mercados) a taxas sustentáveis no segundo semestre de 2013.

As outras duas agências de notação financeira, a S&P e a Fitch, têm o "rating" de Portugal em BBB-, apenas um nível acima do limiar de "grau de investimento".
