UMich Feb. sentiment revised down to 94.1 vs 94.2

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Consumer sentiment weakened slightly in late February, according to media reports Friday of proprietary research from the University of Michigan.
The UMich consumer sentiment index inched lower to 94.1 in late February from 94.2 earlier in the month.
The decline was unexpected.
Economists were expecting the index to rise slightly to 94.3 in late February.
The index is below the 95.5 level in January.
It is the third consecutive monthly decline in sentiment.
